Elder is steeped in lore, loved and respected and renowned for it's
healing properties. My Grandpa used to make whistles from the bark of
it's branches. I use the flowers in all sorts of beauty products as they
soften the skin and in fever formulas,but the flowers are also the base
of a favorite beverage, Elder Fizz--which is light and delicate, but
packs quite a wallop! The berries make the best immune and cold syrup I
know and unlike many medicines, it is delicious!
